Question #1:
I've been dogsitting a friend's Affenpinscher while she is on vacation. It is such a wonderful little dog and I've fallen in love. However, I just adopted a new dog from the shelter and don't need another. hahaha Well, the owner of the little Affenpinscher has decided to get another one. She doesn't want to breed or anything, she just loves them. She is trying to choose between two breeders and asked me for my input. I thought I would ask you guys for your opinions.
Breeder 1: AKC Registered Puppies, Long-time member of the AKC, Does all health tests (hips, elbows, cardiac, thyroid, patella, sebaceous adentis, legg-calve-perthes, spine, and degenerative myelopathy), Provides a written bill of sale, Will take a puppy back under any conditions, Provides puppy buyers with information packets (care, training, health, feeding, socialization, etc), provides a 2-year health guarentee (against hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, patellar luxation, sebaceous adentis, legg-calves-perthes, genetic spine abnormalities, and generative myelopathy), shows in conformation, and has been breeding Affenpinschers for 20 years. However, the parents of this litter are not titled.
Breeder 2: Sire is an AKC champion and breeder provides AKC registration for puppies. I can't find any information that they say they do health testing or provide any guarentees.
Which breeder do you think is better? I personally prefer the first breeder because they do very thorough health testing and provide an extensive health guarentee. I would just like your opinions.
That is a good idea. I know the first breeder shows in conformation for sure. The parents are probably working on their titles or maybe a few other dogs are being actively shown? They sound really good, other than the parents not being titled.
Okay, first off, Affenpinschers are not mutts. They are one of the most ancient toy breeds and have been recognized by the AKC since 1936!!! They aren't a popular breed, so if you aren't informed about dogs, you probably haven't heard of them. Finding a purebred Affenpinscher in a shelter is nearly impossible.
Plus, my friend does not want to go to a shelter or rescue. She wants a purebred puppy that she knows where it came from. Rescue dogs are great, but not everyone wants one. Reputable breeder or rescue...both good options.

Question #12:
The Tale of My Life
“I am honored to be here tonight, as a guess speaker ,and upholding this award. My name is Eyrk Ryncarz and this is my story.”
There were four of us in the family including Mitzi, our little German Affenpinscher. We were prided Poles and proud Jews. Although we weren’t religious, we were still Jewish and we celebrated every major holiday as any Jewish family would. I began assisting my mother on the household bill when my father died. I dropped out of my studies at the City College and got a job as a baker's assistant. I made 55 zloty a day. My little sister Jasa was starting middle school then; it seemed only yesterday when I began changing her diapers.
Life was harder then, and even harder now, still, we found ways to keep on living and even ways to have fun. But then everything changed. September 1st, 1939 was a day I will never forget. I can still recall the scent of mother’s famous blueberry that woke me up for work.
That noon, we were attacked by Germans. Fighter planes bombard the town square. Within minutes, Wieluń center was in ruins. In panic, I ran home, still wearing an apron, dusty with flour. My village was virtually “untouched”
“We’ve been bombed, by Germans!” I shouted.
“Wha—what” stuttered mother, who was by then shaking.
Too awed to talked, we started packing in silent. We handed Mitzi to a neighbor who we ere going on a vacation before school started.
For two days we hid under in a abandon church, then the third day we were confronted by German soldiers. I stared them right in the eyes. One of the soldiers took Sarah from my mother’s hand and dragged her to a truck crammed with other children of the same age. Naturally punched him, hard enough that my knuckles became dislocated. The soldier stared back at me with the eyes of a tiger and yelled an order.
“Manschette ihn und bringt ihn in die Viehwaggons”.
Mother was part German, she must have understood. She signaled me to run and slipped a gold ring and an old watch into my pockets.
We ran as fast as we could, but my mother couldn’t keep up. The soldiers opened fire, and my mother froze. The Germans cuffed her, and dragged her to a different truck, but as crowded as the one that had just swallowed Sarah.
As far as I know they went straight to the gas.
A soldier motioned with his rifle for me to get on a truck, but I knocked him down and ran into the woods by the side of the road.
They fired at me but I was soon lost in the trees.
After many days of travel by night and lying low during the day, I came to the border. German soldiers were patrolling, but I timed their patterns and managed to slip across into Switzerland.
I smuggled my way to England, bribing a couple of German man soldiers who felt compassion. Once settled, I joined the RAF. I served as a radio operator in the bombing raids against German strongholds in France.
Sometime later my plane was damaged by antiaircraft fire and we ditched in the English Channel. We were picked up a few hours later by the Valiant, an American battleship. The friendly sailors gave us dry clothes and hot meals. When the Valiant returned to its British base, I rejoined my unit. The British government gave us medals.
Thank You.
As I finished my story, I’ve notice some students were sleeping, those who were not look bewilder. I'm proud I helped to defeat the Nazis, but I never saw Jasa or my mother again. The story to today still chokes me up. Sometimes I look back and I’m still impressed how far society has risen up in my lifetime. But even more so I was proud of myself for making the world a better place for future generations.
Question #13:

My neighbors across the street have an affenpinscher and he is the sweetest dog. They said he doesn't shed a lot and just has to get his hair clipped at the groomer which is a plus. I'm young and live alone, does this breed do well when left alone? Are they big barkers?

Question #19:
I saw an ad in a paper for an Affin-Pom puppy. Can these two be bred? I don't want to call if it's a scam. Thanks!
Question #20:
I just got a new dog from someone online. He is an affenpinscher/pomeranian. We have had him for a few days now and he still acts very scared with us. He is very skiddish. He wont take food from your hand and when you put the food on the floor, he waits for you to back up before he will go near it. He walks around with his tail ducked underneath. He hates being held. Hates walking on the leash. runs away from you. doesn't come when called. just stands and stare at you or runs off. sometimes he will show a small amount of affection and starts to wave his tail excitedly when you wave your hands around his face.
The previous owners also told us he was house broken. But he has repeatedly peed in the house. We were told he is about 5 months, but we are a little skeptical about that too. We plan on taking him to the vet to find out for sure. He is not nuetured.
I have owned lots of dogs and have never had problems like this. All my dogs are great learners and not afraid of anything. This is the first small dog I have ever owned.
Is he mentally challenged? or are these common traits of smaller breeds of dogs? Can't find any solid information online about disabled dogs symptoms. Help Please!

The pet food recall scared us into making our own dog food at home for Blacky and Yeti. We did alot of research into dog nutrition requirements and went through alot of trial and error trying out new recipes for the dogs - seeing what they liked and what they didn't. We ended up with quite a few super yummy recipes. Our friends begged us to share the recipes with them and we realized there were probably lots of other dog owners out there that would love to try these dog food recipes out on their dogs too! So, 123 DogFood.com came into being. It really is as easy as 1-2-3.
