Question #2:

The is shaggy, beige colored, and large. He is not a bearded collie or old english sheepdog. I was thinking it's a mix between a wheaten terrier and briard? But what do I know, any help?
Question #3:
The type of dog I'm looking for is a briard and i can't find a breeder or ANY for sell anywhere where I live. I am in LOVE with this dog breed and I don't know what to do D:
Question #4:
I'm Curious. They might see a little bit and not really sure what their seeing
Question #5:
I have a 10 year old briard. Her ears are not cropped, we decided not to have them cropped because 1) our vet didn't think it was necessary for any health reasons and 2) we thought they were cuter that way anyway so why not avoid the pain for her? She (and her brothers) have had ear infections. Does the long ear have anything to do with the ear infection? I know that yeast infections can be cause by diet so that is not what I'm asking, she has had other strains than yeast. Our dogs LOVE the water, can it be that the long ears don't let enough air in to dry them out? Especially with the long hair? Thanks to anyone who knows :)
Are briards with cropped ears less-prone to infection?
Question #6:
For those of you with small (and smallish-mediumish breeds): What large breed does your small breed resemble most look wise? Personality/temperament wise?
For those of you with large breeds (and mediumish-large): What small breed does your large breed of dog resemble most look wise? Personality/temperament wise?
I think my Papillons are most like Border Collies personality/temperament wise and Border Collies like the Papillons.
For looks, I think Papillons pretty much have a look of their own, but maybe a Briard with cropped ears. For the BCs, they look most like Shelties...
Question #7:
Well first tell me which group you like the best (if you live in the US)
Sporting? Hound? Terrier? Toy? Working? Non-Sporting? or Herding?
Then out of the group you picked which breeds do you like the most out of those?
I like the Herding & Sporting Group the most.
From the Herding I like the:
Pem. Corgi
Australian Shepherds (aussies)
Border Collie
Belgian Malinois
Briard
Australian Cattle Dog
From the Sporting:
Vizsla
English Springer Spaniels
Brittany
Irish Setter
Pointer
Flat-Coated Retriever
German Short-Haired Pointer
I don't really like the toy group.
Terriers are okay but i would never get one.
Non-sporting dogs are just the ones that don't fit into the groups nicely, so you can't really say anything about that.
I like Working dogs.
Hounds are nice too, go rhodesian ridgebacks and basenjis, wooh!
You do NOT have to choose out of the breeds above, they're just the ones that I like.
I have a Pem. Corgi- Aussie mix and he is the best dog ever! I love him so much:)
I am sticking with the herding group with all the dogs I get!
Ryder ( my dog) is the one in my picture to the left.
Isn't he adorable???
Question #8:
I have four dogs (Yellow Lab, Boxer, Briard, and Yorkie Poo) and a back yard with no grass. I wanted to plant some grass, but know that it will be next to impossible with the dogs who run around it and poop in it. I am looking for different ideas for the yard to allow for the dogs to do their business, but still not look like a big weed field in the spring. Any ideas will be very helpful (especially from landscapers). Grass? No grass? Alternatives?
I have a pretty good sized yard. I like the idea of the granite, but with the way it is set up, it will not be easy to have it delivered. I am thinking of breaking it into 3 pieces. Grassed at the top and blocked off some, dog area in the middle, and tiering the very end with rocks due to large amounts of water drainage. We have raised beds which we will fill with plants for visual. Also, after the area I am looking at sodding, the yard slopes quite a bit. Would the granite stay? Are there other things that will work well for that slope?
Question #9:
This may be really stupid, but why are they sometimes cropped? What is the purpose? (note: I support cropping i'm just unsure as to why for these breeds).
Question #10:
I have 6 dogs a briard,a bearded collie,a old english sheepdog,a komondor,a airedale terrier,and a schnauzer
Question #11:
I'm a dog groomer.
Today I groomed a dog that looked like a small Briard. This dog was not more than 15 lbs full grown and looked exactly like a Briard.
I was told by the lady that owns him that he is a real breed of dog and that she paid $1000 for him. I've never seen another one like him, but then again I've also never seen a Briard in real life either. Just not a popular breed of dog, I guess. She said it was a French Shepherd? But wouldn't that just make him an extremely small Briard?
Is there a real breed of dog that is small and looks exactly like a Briard? If so, what is it called?
I LOVED this dog and I want to know more!
He had extremely soft fur, like that of a pomeranian. Cottony sort of.
He looked exactly like this - but way smaller than a Briard would be.

Question #12:
Recently, (2 days ago)
My family and i noticed odd behavior with our 3 year old male yorki poo who is 3 pounds, we also have another dog, who is a French Briard and 6 years old, and 80 pounds. We have a family of 4, 2 teenage kids, and 2 adults. Oliver (the yorkipoo) has suddnely become withdrawn, scared, and anti social. He hides away whenver he can, avoids us, cries when we pick him up (we checked him for any injuries, felt his stomach for bloat, etc) but found nothing wrong, pyhsically, and sometimes he will come out of this mood and start playing briefly, but these moments last 5 minutes at the most. I don't know what could be wrong, usually he is a loving, slightly needy dog who always wants human compaionship!
what could be wrong???
we took him to the vet, he has nothing pyhsically wrong him, no worms, no muscle issues, no stomach issues, nothing.
Question #13:
Our lifestyle is such that we have to put her in the car. To go on any reasonable walks we need to drive 10-15 minutes. Help!
Question #14:
i was wondering what is the best type of shampoo for a briard that lives on a farm. i have tried some that don't work that well on them.
Question #15:
i have a bouvier/lab and i'm thinking of getting a briard, and i was wondering if briards are good with other dogs.
Question #16:
I have a briard. He is 3 years old. He never bites my sister, mom, brother, or dad. But he bites my friends and i really want him to be nice to my friends.! he knows commands like
*sit
*stay (sometimes)
*come
*paw
*good boy
*bad boy
But once he got out of his fence (Its huge so he has about 3 acres to run in) and he attacked someone. he would not stop no matter what we said!
Help!
Question #17:
When you drink
from a glass by
Georges Briard
do you wonder
at his thoughts
behind the gilded
lines, or his
reasons behind
choices made
in the delicate hues
he used, or perhaps
you recall
that little shop
of dusty wares
and that little town
nestled and
almost
forgotten
on that
afternoon?
aaack...i used behind twice....
i'll fix it later
Question #18:
My 3 month old briard was napping (he weighs 20 lbs) and my husaband leaned down to kiss him and caress him and he started to growl ...he woke up and snapped him in the face close to his eyes and bit his nose and lips. It is not the first time that he growls and complains when we approach her and pet her. We are worried because she is still a baby and she bit him not with the intent to play but to tell him to bug off! We are saddened by this and we don't know if we should punish her and how. We know that some dogs have a behavor problem.
Question #19:
We take her outside, she pees and she understands and we praise her. 10 minutes later she can pee inside the house and 10 minutes later she pees again. She doesn't seem sick but she drinks alot of water. Except sometimes she doesn't drink that much and she pees
around the house anyways. She is very intelligent because she sits and lies down on command and gives her paw. So we don't think it because she doesn't understand. She also poops inside the house without asking to go outside. She can poop up to 4 times a day.

The pet food recall scared us into making our own dog food at home for Blacky and Yeti. We did alot of research into dog nutrition requirements and went through alot of trial and error trying out new recipes for the dogs - seeing what they liked and what they didn't. We ended up with quite a few super yummy recipes. Our friends begged us to share the recipes with them and we realized there were probably lots of other dog owners out there that would love to try these dog food recipes out on their dogs too! So, 123 DogFood.com came into being. It really is as easy as 1-2-3.
